DoDo (UK)

(Noun). No, not the extinct bird (which would have been much more interesting) but a synonym for Dummy (UK) or Pacifier (US). Possibly based on a baby’s first attempt to say ‘Dummy’. Not used much these days I think but very common when I was a very small person. Dummy is the common British term. Pacifier is not used at all in the UK.

See Dummy (UK) for information on why my wife hates them.

Similar meaning: Dummy (UK), Pacifier (US).

Subject Area: Miscellaneous
