(Noun). The first, sparse and downy growth of facial hair in an adolescent male, so called because it is deemed to be similar in texture to the soft downy hair often present on the buttocks: “That’s not a beard! That’s just bum fluff!”
All British men experience severe angst at some point in their lives about the abrasive quality of their facial hair. Little do they realise that eventually, like me, they’ll be able to sand the varnish off a mahogany church pew with their chin one day.
